In addition to the solar panels parking lot projects, workers at the main Fairfield campus, at 4000 Suisun Valley Road, will be renovating its Administration Building 600, on the east side of the property. Officials estimate the work will be done in 17 months.
In the meantime, administrative services will be housed at 360 Campus Lane, near the south end of the college. The temporary offices will be accessible by a walking path (near parking lots 1 and 3) from the main campus. Offices for the superintendent-president, vice president of academic affairs, vice president of finance, human resources, research and planning, payroll, and fiscal offices will be in that building.
Building 600 is near the city bus line and Building 500. Neither transportation services nor access to surrounding buildings will not be affected during the renovation. Additionally, construction will not interfere with classroom teaching or student services during the next 17 months, officials said in a press release.
In addition to the main administration building closure, the Vacaville Center is re-opening the Vacaville Center Annex building, at 2000 N. Village Parkway (across the street from the Vacaville Center), for classes during the upcoming fall semester. The annex expansion allows the college to offer more courses to satisfy the needs of students attending the Vacaville Center.
Signs will be posted throughout the college to indicate where the temporary administration offices are.
