The evolution of the Internet and the way it is used on a daily basis (both frequency and service) has left a world hungry to optimize and profit off of the World Wide Web, which is why social media marketing and Internet marketing training are such a viable new business venture. From Tweets and Facebook messages to company websites and blogs, everyone wants to capitalize on search engine optimization in order to receive better search result rankings. After all, if your website doesn?t show up on the first two pages of results, it?s unlikely anyone is making their way to the site via searches. This is a time where anyone can be famous through social media, and every website has an equal opportunity to be Google?s No. 1, the site ranked first in search results.
Internet marketing training
Internet marketing is a rapidly expanding technique that combines content with design. Not only must a website sell a product or service, but it must sell itself as the best option for consumers whether the company is online or offline. Otherwise, customers will search for a new site. In order to become successful through Internet marketing, training is often required for business owners and employees. Training includes topics such as search engine optimization (SEO) so that the website has a higher search result ranking and is more often seen; ways to blog and update website content regularly; and how to market the company to the right demographic. Seminars, web forums and online courses and resources are available for Internet marketing training.
Social media marketing
In reality, social media marketing is a form of free marketing where the companies allow their followers, friends and subscribers to do the mouth-to-mouth (or site-to-site) sharing. Fast food restaurants, hair salons, department stores, and even grocery stores utilize social media marketing. Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube and many other sites are being used as a way for businesses to reach consumers and show there are personalities behind the mega-logos. While the term social media incorporates more than a few websites, those sites have proven to be extremely successful ways to instantly reach hundreds (thousands, millions) of consumers or followers. E-mails, blogs, forums, social networks, and social bookmarking are easy ways for companies to reach the masses. And, because messages can be re-tweeted or re-posted, one message can be shared repeatedly without the company paying a single dime.
Although social media is an easy way to be clever and gain attention, such as Taco Bell?s Twitter account which is often featured on other sites as a source of humorous material (The Best of Taco Bell?s Twitter Account), the wrong tweet or status update can truly harm a company. Recently, Celeb Boutique saw a backlash from misunderstanding the hashtag #Aurora, and assuming the tag was referring a fashionable outfit and not the recent shooting in Colorado, the company made an insensitive claim. Although the company released several messages afterward, apologizing for the original tweet, the damage had been done as many sites captured the tweet and reported on it.
As you can see, both social media marketing and Internet marketing training are useful in spreading brand awareness and reaching a larger consumer base. With the right training and resources, your company can use the Internet to you advantage while you reap the rewards.
