How'd They Do That? Ken Block’s Modified Ford Fiesta

Ken Block is an X-Game medalist and a Rally America and World Rally team champion. But if you recognize him (or his souped-up Ford Fiesta), chances are it?s from one of the five installments of his Gymkhana video series, each of which has garnered millions of YouTube views. (Click here to see the most recent one.)

To accomplish all this, Block drives a Ford-powered Monster Energy car that?s as versatile as he is. For the newest installment of PM?s "How?d They Do That," shown on the Car and Driver YouTube channel, we got a close look at this savage machine.

Ian Davis, Monster world rally chief engineer, explains how the Fiesta?s engine, transmission, suspension, and brakes can be configured to conquer different racetracks and racing styles. And Ken even explains some of the tricks and lingo rally drivers use to communicate and navigate through the rally stages. Watch the video to learn how it?s done.
