AMMAN ? On the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day, marked on February 15, two societies are launching the ?Yes, we can! Childhood cancer can be beaten? campaign on Friday to disseminate vital, life-saving information about childhood cancer, a statement from the Jordan Society of Paediatric Oncology (JSPO) said.

The JSPO, in cooperation with the International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parent Organisations, will distribute information sheets about childhood cancer to the public at the Kingdom?s malls, the statement said.

Children with cancer will also be visiting major fun and play areas sponsored by JSPO to mark the day.

?Each year 175,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with cancer, of which an estimated 90,000 will die from the disease,? the statement said.
