If Congress and the President Can't Do the Job, Replace Them

We have elected 100 senators and 435 congressmen to represent us in Washington. They have been charged with conducting business in our best interests.

They have done little to satisfy that responsibility. In the past four years this country has increased the national debt by 60 percent and the outlook for the next several years is even dimmer. They continued arguing about a budget for 2013 in the last hours of 2012.

Both parties are to blame. The Senate (Democratic control) has not issued a budget in four years. The House, now controlled by Republicans, has not been able to pass budget legislation over the same span.

Both parties are quibbling about tax rates for various groups within our economy with little attention to the real culprit ? spending.

In many respects they have set themselves apart from the very people they are supposed to represent. Where in the business world would a person be hired and given a lifetime pension for two years of service? Why are they exempt from the very laws they force us to accept? Who would accept management that supported a plan they never read?

This entire group is incapable of making the tough decisions required to get this country back in balance. I would propose that they all be taken out of office, including the president, and be replaced by people with the desire and fortitude to get the job done.
